Fire investigators say a fire at a Central Fresno home is arson.
The fire started around 8:00 a.m. Wednesday morning on Clay Avenue, near Olive and Blackstone.
Firefighters say there were no witnesses in the area at the time of the fire but that there was evidence that it was intentionally set.
According to the property manager, the tenants were scheduled to be evicted the same day as the fire. Those tenants will be questioned.
When fire fighters arrived, the single story home was covered in smoke and flames but there was nobody home.
It took 20 fire fighters to bring the fire under control.
Fresno Fire Department spokesman Koby Johns said, "A couple of points of origin, which is usually a strong indicator of an intentionally set fire. Our arson investigators have come to the seen; they've concluded the investigation. And the cause of this fire is incendiary, which means it was set intentionally."
Fire investigators are still searching for suspects.
The estimated damage to the home is around $40,000.
