It was a violent home invasion in the City of Selma. One person is in the hospital after he was beaten and all four residents were apparently tied up by the suspects. It happened around 4am on the 1400-block of Northhill St.

"All I know is that it was really, really, just like a nightmare," that's how Aurora, one of the victims, describes the overnight home invasion. Three or four armed suspects, wearing ski masks and dark clothes, broke into her home. "And I just remember the guy grabbing me and putting the gun to my head and pushing my head down telling me not to look at him. And he was demanding money, money, drugs, weed," said Aurora.

The victim did not want her face shown on camera for fear of being targeted again, since the suspects got away. Selma Police Chief, Myron Dyck, does not believe this was random. He says most home invasion robberies target specific homes and specific people.

"Some of the residents have medicinal marijuana cards and so there were some narcotics found there. Some marijuana," said Dyck.

He says in the past neighbors have complained about narcotics and other activity in the home. But the family is still the victim in this case, because the medical marijuana was legal. Police say the thieves were violent and a 21-year-old resident went to the hospital after he was hit in the head with a shotgun and was beaten.

"They had us in the hallway and they made us lay down and tied our hands behind our backs," said Aurora.

"This is a very violent takeover of the home," said Chief Dyck.

Selma Police has leads they're following up on, investigators say this incident could be connected to several other recent home invasion robberies in Fresno County, that appear to have similarities.
