Jett McBride is being charged with attempted murder, battery and assault with a deadly weapon.

"Our thoughts have been with our employees family since the incident happened we've been helping in any way we can," said PG&E Spokesman, Denny Boyles.

Boyles said the PG&E injured employee was working on electrical lines and said the worker never saw what was coming.

"There's just not a lot you can do when you're targeted that way," said Boyles.

Investigators say McBride rammed the car he was driving into into the PG&E workers pinning one of them between a black car and utility truck.  Witness, Gloria Rios said that's when McBride flipped out.

"He was yelling Jesus Christ and he tried to pull the PG&E guys who was stuck in between the cars, but he was stuck," said Rios.

A hitchhiker riding with McBride at the time used a hatchet to knock out McBride.
