A trash collector was honored Tuesday night for doing a good deed.
The Clovis City Council recognized Martin Dominguez after he returned a lost bank deposit bag with $1,000 inside.
While picking up trash on his route, he noticed a man accidentally drop a bank deposit pouch on the street.
Dominguez discovered the bag contained over $700 in cash and about $300 in checks.
The money belonged to a local church and Dominguez says he was happy he was able to track down the man and return the money.
Dominguez said, "It feels pretty special. I've never been recognized this high or anything like that. It feels very special. Like my mom said, let your conscience be your guide."
Dominguez says he felt proud that his wife and 6-year-old daughter Isabelle were there for the recognition.
