The Madera County Sheriff has released video of a suspect in a credit card skimming operation that targeted customers of 22-Mile House on Highway 41 in Coarsegold.

Take a look at your screen.

Do you recognize this man?

Investigators say he made purchases with stolen credit card numbers in Southern California.

The man purchased a carton of cigarettes. Then he got into a purple or blue sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry.

He did the same thing at another convenience store, buying cigarettes again.

The numbers were taken from customers at 22-Mile House in MaderaCounty in late November and December.

"Most likely in this case there is a device called a skimmer that can be placed on the gas tank where you put in your credit card," said John Anderson, Madera County Sheriff.

The thieves attach their own card reader to the machine,

Sometimes there are cameras posted nearby to catch your pin number as you enter it.

Then they take the device and make duplicate or fake cards to use.

Madera county investigators believe the thieves loaded the stolen credit card numbers onto blank cards.

And that they're either using those cards or selling them to others.

If you recognize the suspect, or have information on the crime, you’re asked to contact the Madera County Sheriff’s Department at (559) 675-7770.
