For the second time in 4 months, credit cards have been skimmed at a gas station in Madera County.

At least 15 people say their cards were compromised after pumping gas at the 22-Mile House on Highway 41.

Thieves were able to copy information from debit and credit cards. It happened near the later part of November or early December.

Charges on the victim's cards have been traced to Las Vegas and Southern California.

Investigators say there could be more victims.

Back in September, more than 50 drivers who filled up at a gas station in Madera Ranchos found fraudulent charges on their statements.

Stations in Tulare and Fresno were also targeted.

Skimming takes place when somebody obtains your credit card information, sometimes using an electronic device attached to the card scanner on a gas pump or ATM.

You are advised to research your credit and bank statements for the past few months to see if there are any unusual charges.
