A second man was arrested Wednesday night in
The man has not been identified. But he's believed to be the second suspect in the deadly pharmacy robbery Tuesday night.
Pharmacy owner Brian Lee shot and killed gunman Aquilla Bailey.
“They didn't say a word,” Lee said.
Brian Lee says two masked men slipped in through an open back door and started shooting. His 68-year-old mother was hit in the leg. Brian fired back.
“Obviously they wanted to kill us and what they wanted after that I don't know,” Lee said.
“He was shot in the face. Then he was shot in the torso and once in the leg,” said Steve Frazier, Madera Police Chief (interim).
Both suspects ran. One got away. Bailey collapsed and died a couple blocks away. He left a trail of blood on the sidewalk.
Bailey - a known gang member - was arrested in August for a home invasion robbery in
Bill Mayfield of Gilmay Guns says this incident is an example of why people should maintain their right to carry a gun.
“We need to be of a mind set to be able and willing to protect ourselves and our family and if we're not, we don't any kind of society at all,” said Mayfield.
Lee and his mother were back to work as normal Wednesday morning.
But blood stains remained on the door of the pharmacy.
Lee who is ex military carries a .45. And is glad he had his gun.
“Of course because the Madera Chief said if it weren't for that, we'd be two corpses,” Lee said.
