Fresno Unified School District selected families with children, who are living in shelters and motels, to be part of the holiday event, which is now in its 24th year.

A guest at the event, Aurora Jimenez said, "Every year I come. It's nice for my kids - they like it here."

Another guest, Christian Becerril said, "It's a happy day because I like to see everyone smile and have a good time, including family members."

Pardini's Catering provided the meal and their was entertainment, arts and crafts and face painting for the kids.

Lou Ohki volunteered for the first time and says it's a nice opportunity to connect with the community. "There are so many families in need, especially around this time, that don't have very much. I feel like it's just a really great way to give back."

There was even a visit from Santa Clause, who let kids sit on his lap and take pictures.

Everyone walked about with bags of groceries and a gift from Toys for Tots and Celebration Church.
