A battered women's shelter is not a place most people would want to spend the holidays, but in reality, there are many women and their children who need the shelter's protection.
So to make sure those folks have a nice Christmas, the Fresno County Sheriff's Foundation for Public Safety donated lots of toys to the Marjaree Mason Center as they do every year.
Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims said, "There are dozens of children that are staying at this center 365 days a year, not just during Christmas time, so I'm hoping people will find it in their hearts to do something for these children in this center."
Toys for Tots also donated some of the play things handed out at the shelter.
