Still no arrests following several robberies in the Merced area. Since Monday, gunman have hit three fast food restaurants and a drug store. Each crime happened between the hours of six p.m. and 10 p.m.
Area store owners are taking precautions to protect their property and their employees. Many are instructing workers not to keep large amounts of cash in the registers, and instead urging them to make bank deposit drops more frequently. Others are making sure at least two employees are on shift at all times.
Police haven't linked all the crimes. But in two of the crimes, the suspect drove off in a late-model, silver-colored Nissan Altima.
