Five people were injured Wednesday morning when a car crashed into a group in the South Valley.
According to the CHP, the driver hit the group around 5:00 a.m. near Road 68 and Avenue 308 in Goshen.
The victims were taking part in a Catholic ceremony. It was dark and they were carrying candles, but the driver apparently didn't see them as he approached from behind.
Four adults and a child received minor to moderate injuries.
A witness tells CBS47 one woman was trapped under the car. Juan Hernandez said, "I was standing facing the crowd and all I saw was a car impact, taking all kinds of people down. One of the ladies I was most concerned of - she was under the wheel."
CHP says drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the accident.
